Has your masterpiece become your master?
Are you stuck in limbo on a book and need assistance?
Many writers are not just stuck on who to choose for their illustrator and editor, but on the actual story itself. We can assist in getting through your writer's block, as well as several steps within the book production process.
1. Writing the book - Yes, sounds simple enough, but the truth is many writers need help along the way. Whether that's a full time editor at your disposal, or periodic power meetings addressing all your questions, comments and concerns, writing a book doesn't have to be a herculean challenge. Enjoy the process!
We can assist in story and character development, as well as research on a topic. i.e. History, Cooking, etc...
2. Book Design & Formatting - Your book is more than just well written words, it's a story. To garner interest in your book, it should pass all the visual tests, as well as the sniff test. Readers are just like anyone else and judge a book by its cover. Make sure the 10 second sniff test your book gets with a potential reader is a success! We'll make sure the cover catches the eye, the book is formatted correctly for the various e-readers and cellphones, as well as make sure the paperback feels and looks good in the hand.
3. Audio Book - Hey, don't knock the fast growing segment of audio books, especially if it's a book that lends itself to someone listening, instead of reading it - i.e. a book on doing something like painting, writing... wink, wink. Furthermore, people will pay a premium for an audio book and are more likely to recommend it.
4. Fixing Flaws - can turn a piece of crap into a masterpiece. Your book needs something to put it over the top. Maybe it's as simple as building on a central character, or bringing an important social issue to the forefront that's hovering in the back, making the book instantly relevant into today's socially conscious world. Maybe... Just maybe, the illustrator you choose was a "Friend" from college and just found his inner Warhol...
We can take a book off the shelf and do 1 of 2 things. One, we can rather quickly slap some lipstick on the pig and get her to the county fair in time for the weigh in, or the second option is we can perform what they refer to in the classic automotive industry as a full body rotisserie. Longer, but better results.
